Steril Processing - Operating Room Tech - Needed in Aurora, CO. 
 
Location – Aurora, Colorado
Practice Type- Steril Processing Tech - Operating Room 
Start Date – As soon as credentialing is complete
Shift - Nights
Hours - 10 hour Shifts
Term - 8 Weeks 
 
We have an immediate need for a Steril Processing Tech - Operating Room -  for a hospital located in Aurora, CO.  Below are additional details:

Responsibilities:
Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment  and supplies. 

Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

Passes  instruments to physician during surgery.  Continually  accounts for number and  location  of instruments and supplies during surgery.

Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
 
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • Credentials:
    Essential:
    * Basic Life Support
    * Registered  Surgical Technologist through DORA
    * Surgical Assistant
  • Other information:
    Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Surgical Technologist program.
    Required Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Preferred: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). 
    Minimum Experience: None required.
  • IF APPLICABLE: BLS through the American Heart Association or the client CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.   BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.   All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the client CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (client for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
